Income Protection Insurance

  • Individual name on policy to match the name registered in the system
  • There is no minimum amount for Income Protection and the amount does not need to be recorded
  • Must be current
  • Must specify the state in which the certification has been uploaded for
  • Must specify Income Protection or Accident and Sickness

NOTE: If the policy is paid on a monthly basis, the document must show when the recent payment was made or when the next payment is due


  • Issue Date = Start of coverage date listed on policy
  • Expiry Date = Coverage end date listed on policy (If the policy is paid on a monthly 
    basis the expiry will be set when the next payment is due)
  • Insurer = Insurer will be listed in policy content
  • Policy Number = as specified on the policy
  • Item = Income Protection or Accident and Sickness as specified on the policy
  • Amount Description = not required
  • Amount = not required


Note: Proof of purchase such as a receipt for Income Protection can be accepted with a 30-day expiry from submission date.


 Marine Insurance

Marine Insurance

  • Company name and ABN must match the details registered. If it does not match, evidence must be provided to link the ABN or business names together. This is ideally a letter or a download from ABR showing the linkage, a Trust Deed or a letter from the company accountant.
  • We can accept ‘PTY LTD’ or ‘(Pty) Ltd’ in lieu of ‘Proprietary Limited’ when this is the only difference in the company name between what is shown on company compliance paperwork verse what’s shown in onsite.
  • Must be current
  • Must clearly show the company being registered as the insurance party; if policy is paid monthly expiry to be set as the paid to date.
  • Logistics Operators Liability insurance covering loss or damage to Products being transported by the Contractor in accordance with the provision of the Services and for a limit of liability of not less than $10 million; or

Marine/Goods Transit Insurance for a limit of liability of not less than $500,000 for any one event. For further information refer to the terms of your contract, Purchase order or contact your Orica representative.

  • Item = As specified on policy <accepted type> Marine Insurance
  • Amount Description = As specified on policy
  • Amount = For Logistics Operators Liability insurance $10M, all other accepted types $500,000 for any one event


Note: Proof of purchase such as a receipt for Logistics Operators Liability insurance or Marine/Goods in Transit Insurance can be accepted with a 30-day expiry from submission date.


 Motor Vehicle Insurance

Motor Vehicle Insurance

  • Certificate of Insurance / Confirmation of Insurance / Certificate of Currency / Confirmation of Placement for Motor Vehicle Insurance showing:
  • Name of insurer
  • Policy Number
  • Expiry date
  • Company name and ABN must match the details registered*. If it does not match, evidence must be provided to link the ABN or business names together. This is ideally a letter or a download from ABR showing the linkage, a Trust Deed or a letter from the company accountant.
  • Slight business name variations can be accepted when the ABN matches, and the name difference is only slight (eg. Pegasus Aust and Pegasus Australia)
  • Must be minimum 20 million (AUD) coverage (“Limit of Liability”; and “Limit of Indemnity”) for 3rd Party Liability / Legal Liability / 3rd Party Property / Road Risk Liability
    *Sole Traders may be subject to exceptions

  • Must show vehicle/s insured or a reference to coverage for all vehicles like the examples shown below:

  • Amount Description = As specified on policy <3rd Party Liability / Legal Liability / 3rd Party Property/ Road Risk Liability >
  • Amount = as per policy (“Limit of Liability”; and “Limit of Indemnity”) (minimum of 20 million AUD) UNLESS the policy is for comprehensive, in which case the amount can be 0


 Professional Indemnity

Professional Indemnity Insurance

  • Company name and ABN must match the details registered. If it does not match, evidence must be provided to link the ABN or business names together. This is ideally a letter or a download from ABR showing the linkage, a Trust Deed or a letter from the company accountant.
  • We can accept ‘PTY LTD’ or ‘(Pty) Ltd’ in lieu of ‘Proprietary Limited’ when this is the only difference in the company name between what is shown on company compliance paperwork verse what’s shown in onsite.
  • Must be current
  • Must state one of the accepted types as listed in the below table
  • If the policy does not list one of the accepted types a Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) is required before escalation.
  • If PDS states on of the accepted types – the insurance and PDS needs to be uploaded together for approval
  • If the PDS does not specify Professional Indemnity, it will be escalated          
  • Amount = the minimum level of coverage required will depend on the type of professional service your business is providing to Orica. Refer to the terms of your contract, Purchase order or contact your Orica representative.

Property Insurance

  • Company name on policy to match the name registered in the system
  • The uploaded document should be for: General Property** insurance

**General Property Insurance covers you for the cost of repairing or replacing property insured, such as your tools or equipment, that is accidentally damaged in any location worldwide (unless otherwise noted).

  • Must be current
  • Must specify the state in which the certification has been uploaded for
  • There is no minimum amount of coverage to be verified – any amount acceptable.

 Public and / or Product Liability

Public &/or Product Liability Insurance

  • Company name and ABN must match the details registered. If it does not match, evidence must be provided to link the ABN or business names together. This is ideally a letter or a download from ABR showing the linkage, a Trust Deed or a letter from the company accountant.
  • We can accept ‘PTY LTD’ or ‘(Pty) Ltd’  in lieu of ‘Proprietary Limited’ when this is the only difference in the company name between what’s shown on company compliance paperwork verse what’s shown in onsite                 
  • Minimum amount of $10 million dollars Australian for any one occurrence; Coverage amount to be recorded; If less than $10 million (AUD) the policy is to be returned (even if you were previously approved with a different level of coverage, this is no longer acceptable).                    
  • If the policy amount is not in AUD and the policy is worldwide, a conversion at the time of processing is to be completed to ensure the non-AUD amount is equal to or greater than the $10 million AUD amount
  • USD converted to AUD amount of greater than the $10 million is acceptable when the policy applies for work conducted in Australia
  • Insurance must be current

NOTE: The type of policy can be listed in the 'liability limit' section of the policy (e.g. under the class or description it may refer to a policy type that 'requires approval' however under the limit or interest insured section if it refers specifically to an accepted type listed above this would be deemed acceptable.

  • Amount Description = The type of cover where its liability limit covers any one occurrence (e.g. if the limit of indemnity states $10M any one occurrence in respect of public liability AND in the aggregate in respect of the product liability, we will only record public liability as the amount description)
  • Amount = as specific on policy (must be minimum of $10 million (AUD or equivalent)
