A trade certificate is issued by the governing body when an individual has successfully completed a trade a qualification that is recognised within the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF). Other evidence types that clients may be willing to accept on escalation:
- Completion of apprenticeship papers
- Formal letter issued by governing body indicating completion of trade / apprenticeship that meets all competency requirement points below
Evidence types that would not be acceptable:
- Transcripts - since they dont explicitly confirm full qualification completion; units only (which could demonstrate only partial completion)
- Apprenticeship indenture papers - since are essentially only evidence that a contract has commenced; not that the contracted term of the apprenticeship was actually completed and the worker deemed qualified in the trade.
