Marine Insurance

  • Company name and ABN must match the details registered. If it does not match, evidence must be provided to link the ABN or business names together. This is ideally a letter or a download from ABR showing the linkage, a Trust Deed or a letter from the company accountant.
  • We can accept ‘PTY LTD’ or ‘(Pty) Ltd’ in lieu of ‘Proprietary Limited’ when this is the only difference in the company name between what is shown on company compliance paperwork verse what’s shown in onsite.
  • Must be current
  • Must clearly show the company being registered as the insurance party; if policy is paid monthly expiry to be set as the paid to date.
  • Logistics Operators Liability insurance covering loss or damage to Products being transported by the Contractor in accordance with the provision of the Services and for a limit of liability of not less than $10 million; or

Marine/Goods Transit Insurance for a limit of liability of not less than $500,000 for any one event. For further information refer to the terms of your contract, Purchase order or contact your Orica representative.

Motor Vehicle Insurance

  • Certificate of Insurance / Confirmation of Insurance / Certificate of Currency / Confirmation of Placement for Motor Vehicle Insurance showing:
  • Name of insurer
  • Policy Number
  • Expiry date
  • Company name and ABN must match the details registered*. If it does not match, evidence must be provided to link the ABN or business names together. This is ideally a letter or a download from ABR showing the linkage, a Trust Deed or a letter from the company accountant.
  • Slight business name variations can be accepted when the ABN matches, and the name difference is only slight (eg. Pegasus Aust and Pegasus Australia)
  • Must be minimum 20 million (AUD) coverage (“Limit of Liability”; and “Limit of Indemnity”) for 3rd Party Liability / Legal Liability / 3rd Party Property / Road Risk Liability
    *Sole Traders may be subject to exceptions

  • Must show vehicle/s insured or a reference to coverage for all vehicles like the examples shown below:

  • Issue Date = Start of coverage date listed on policy
  • Expiry Date = Coverage end date listed on policy (If the policy is paid monthly the expiry will be set when the next payment is due)

Professional Indemnity Insurance

  • If the PDS does not specify Professional Indemnity, it will be escalated          
  • Amount = the minimum level of coverage required will depend on the type of professional service your business is providing to Orica. Refer to the terms of your contract, Purchase order or contact your Orica representative.

Property Insurance

Public &/or Product Liability Insurance

  • Company name and ABN must match the details registered. If it does not match, evidence must be provided to link the ABN or business names together. This is ideally a letter or a download from ABR showing the linkage, a Trust Deed or a letter from the company accountant.

  • Minimum amount of $10 million dollars Australian for any one occurrence; Coverage amount to be recorded; If less than $10 million (AUD) the policy is to be returned (even if you were previously approved with a different level of coverage, this is no longer acceptable).                    
  • If the policy amount is not in AUD and the policy is worldwide, a conversion at the time of processing is to be completed to ensure the non-AUD amount is equal to or greater than the $10 million AUD amount
  • USD converted to AUD amount of greater than the $10 million is acceptable when the policy applies for work conducted in Australia
  • Insurance must be current

For SA workers compensation document uploads you may note there is no end date recorded on the document. If this is the case, enter the last day of the finanical year as the end date for this cert – The last day of the financial year every year falls on the 30th June.

E.g: If you receive an SA Workers Compensation document upload that shows ‘This employer is registered from 06/08/2004, the next upcoming ‘last day of the financial year’ is 30/06/2016 which can be entered as the end date despite not being shown on the document.
